Open Doors Films was established by Yoav Halevy As an independent film production company, focus on projects that mix the complicated Israeli stories & dramas with a modern cinematic language in order to reach a worldwide distribution & audiences. Among our projects the company produced the film BUREAU 06 directed by Yoav Halevy. The film received an Honorable Mention for Artistic Achievement in Holocaust – Related Film at the Jerusalem Film Festival, airing on lots of TV stations around the world, and at the UN as part of the international Holocaust Memorial Day, 2020. The company also produced the Feature Film DEAR MR. WALDMAN written & directed by Hanan Peled, the award winning Feature Film GOD’S SANDBOX written and produced by Yoav Halevy, winner Best Film, Best Director & Best Screenplay at the Manchester FF, the Documentary film IN THE THIRD PERSON, winner Best Documentary Film at the Haifa Int. Film Festival. The company also cooperate and develop the feature film WHITE NIGHT, directed by Arnon Zadok, written by Yoav Halevy. The film has won the YOUNG CINEMA AWARD – “Director’s Fortnight”, at the Cannes Film Festival.

Producer, Screenwriter

Yoav was born in Israel in 1963, holds a B.F.A in Film and Television from Tel Aviv University, and studies his M.A Degree in Cultural Studies at the Open University of Israel, and at the Interdisciplinary Program in the Arts at Tel Aviv University. His first film, as a screenwriter WHITE NIGHT has won at the Cannes Int. Film Festival (Young Cinema Award). Over the years, Yoav became an award winning independent filmmaker both as a Screenwriter and as a Producer. His films have been officially selected to be screened in prestigious Film Festivals around the world as Cannes Int. Film Festival, Karlovy-Vary Int. Film Festival, Palm Springs Int. Film Festival, Munich Int. Film Festival and many more.

Alongside his creative work as a filmmaker, Yoav has been a lecturer on film since 2006, and Head of the Production Department at the Hamidrasha Faculty of the Arts at Beit Berl College. Yoav, who believes in nurturing a new generation of authentic and challenging filmmakers, has mentored many young Israeli filmmakers, and has overseen the production of hundreds of short films, many of which have won awards in Israel and around the world.
